So, what do you do?

For years, I had plenty of answers.

School-based case manager. Military spouse. Mom. Wife. Clinical Research Coordinator. Public health professional. Yoga teacher. Entrepreneur. Eventually, ex-wife. Today, vocational counselor.

Every season brought a new title, a new role, and a new way to answer the question.

And I am proud of every one of them.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I had become really good at explaining what I did, who I worked for, and who I was to other people—and much less confident explaining what was uniquely me underneath all of it.

Because titles change.

Jobs end. Careers evolve. Families change. Orders come. Kids grow up. Life happens.

But the natural patterns in how we think, feel, contribute, solve problems, connect with others, and move through the world come with us.

That is what I found in CliftonStrengths®.

For the first time, I had language that wasn't dependent on my job title, relationship status, or current season of life. I could name the talent I had been bringing with me all along.

And that changed the question.

Instead of only asking, “What do I do?” I started asking:

What am I passionate about? What makes me unique?

And eventually, I found an answer that felt like me—not another title:

I am a strengths-obsessed pathfinder.

I collect information, learn everything I can, see possibilities for what could be better, bring energy to the process, and find a path forward. Those patterns have been there through every job, every relationship, every move, and every version of me.

My titles have changed.

My talent has traveled with me.

That realization became the foundation of Hello Strengths LLC and the work I do in talent and leadership development.

Today, I help women find language for the talent underneath their titles. I help managers recognize and develop the talent already on their teams. And I help create workplaces where people have room to contribute what they do best.

Because women are worth investing in. Their talent is worth developing.

And whatever title comes next, you deserve to know what you bring with you.
